Sanyo has built an ark for the solar century a remarkable 630 kW solar collecting building that boasts over 5,000 solar panels as well as recycled materials that generates of over 500,000kwh of energy per year. The curved shape of the building allows better capture the sun’s rays and it also was inspired by the vision of an ark embarking on a journey toward the 21st Century.
This impressive 315m wide, 37m tall facility is located in Gifu Prefecture, in the geographical center of Japan, and can be seen from the JR Tokaido bullet train, which runs past on an adjacent railway track.
