Despite the economic crunch in the region, Gucci bravely opens its 28th flagship store in Shanghai, China. Gucci’s Chinese takeover is a clear example of the burgeoning financial frivolity on the orient.
The Shanghai store marks the latest design concept of the label's new creative director Frida Gianni. Giannini's idea behind the architectural design of the 17,000 square foot space was to, "bring light into the interiors of our stores," she explained. Using a method that has already been integrated into stores in New York, Rome, Munich, Hong Kong and London.
Fronted with a monolithic golden glass façade and filled with polished rose gold finishings, marble floors and rosewood detailing, no stone has been left unturned in Giannini’s pursuit of the very best for Gucci’s latest South China residence.
Spanning two floors and showcasing the full range of menswear, womens wear and accessories. It is a ultimately a space that combines elements the label holds most dear: luxury, class, and sophistication.
